Hello everyone! I'm not sure if I put in my last post about Grace's ballet classes but she has been one busy girl recently! She has ballet classes on Tuesday and Thursday and has a modern dance class on Friday (we haven't been attending these because it is just too much)! On top of that, she has rehearsal for her Dia de los Muertos performance coming up November 1st. Does everyone have their tickets? It's a fabulous production...really, the best I've seen! Below are several pictures from Grace's ballet class (last week was observation week so we got to sit in on the class)!
Very flexible little girl! Now if we could just get her to pay attention (has such an active imagination). And the other leg...
We've been trying to enjoy the last of the warm days. Last week, I hid 18 pennies in the sandbox (pirates treasure) and had the kids spin in circles first before starting their search...ha ha ha...genius! Wish I could take the credit but the kids' babysitter thought of it...thanks Ele!
Here are most of the members of our kickball team. We play kickball once a week and then head to a bar for a drink afterwards. We stink (haven't won yet) but we have an absolute blast.
Here is Holtz getting ready to go to Grace's Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser for her school. Thank you for donating...this was a fabulous fundraiser! She ran all 35 laps around her gymnasium and raised $75!
Grace is standing with the white shirt, pink shorts and different colored tube socks (he he he). All of the 2nd grade boys ran first (the girls are cheering them on in this picture).
Just coming out of the tunnel...
After every lap the teachers checked off a box on her 'backpack' so they could track how many laps she ran...yay for Grace!
Holtz and I were lucky enough that we could both join Grace on her field trip to Devine's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Harrodsburg, KY. I am truly blessed beyond words to be able to participate in these!
Grace's class. Grace is standing on the left tube with both of her arms up on the chains (she's wearing her pumpkin vest that Mimi made her)!
On the hayride to fetch pumpkins!
Grace is in the 2nd row all the way on the right...
It's fall break! Bob and Sharon came to town and we did some fun things! The weather was perfect (75 and sunny) both Thursday and Friday so Thursday, we decided to go to another pumpkin patch. We went to Boyd Orchard's in Versailles, KY...one of my favorites!
The kids were hiding from us in the corn maze and popping out to scare us! Yikes!
Look at Holtz eyeing that kid who wants to steal away his binoculars...so funny!
We picked apples here too! Yummy!
We did what I've always wanted to do...we bought the biggest pumpkin they had! Can't wait to carve that baby! I've never, in my life, had a pumpkin so large!
Is this cracking you up or what? It's truly unbelievable!
Friday we went to Shaker Village on Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg, KY. Bob and Sharon took Grace when she was maybe 2 (???) but Evan and I (and Holtz) have never been. It was a perfect day for running and playing outside...
Stinker wouldn't take a picture with me...so I got her!
Last but not least, with cold weather approaching soon, my buddy Jordan, Holtz and I went to the Pinnacles in Berea, KY to hike. There was a dog that lives there (I think his name was Aberdine) and hiked up the entire mountain with us. The view was absolutely breathtaking! I can't imagine what it is going to look like in a week or two when all the the leaves have turned. If I could imagine heaven, this would be it. I wish I could've just sat in silence there all day...but with Holtz walking around (and major drop offs), it was hard to relax!
Thanks for reading our family blog. I hope you enjoyed it and hope you feel close to us! I mentioned earlier that I have been blessed. I truly have the best family and friends and I miss you all so much!
